BIPOC, Therapist providing coaching in Long Beach, CA
Looking for a BIPOC therapist? I provide therapy and coaching for Individuals and Couples.
When tools aren’t enough, therapy or coaching can help.
It is not the first time you’ve gotten yourself out of a tough spot, and with help and the right connection, you can build on what you already know.
Hi, my name is Khan, and I’m in Long Beach, CA! I’m a BIPOC Immigrant from the Caribbean islands of Trinidad & Tobago. I’m of South Asian descent, queer and non-binary, and a licensed mental health therapist. I love helping folx connect to their inner wisdom and experience more love and joy in their life. This is possible even while you’re also experiencing complicated and intense emotions.
It’s been my life's work to express care through deep listening and helping others connect with important parts of themselves.
As a Trinidadian immigrant, I grew up in a “we” culture, often sharing food and eating from one plate, collecting rain for drinking water, and even coming together to build homes with our hands and collective knowledge. You can imagine, relationships were essential and quite down to earth! My life experience with interdependence and my deep love for human beings, and the preciousness I feel inherent in our being inspired me in therapy school, where I earned a master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology. This program had an emphasis on major spiritual traditions of the East and West, which emphasized feeling into my body, heart, and spirit. This greatly informs my personal practice of play, meditation, and psychotherapy and helps me to be the person that I am. I’m excited to work together so that you, too, can access your inner wisdom, actualize your personal dreams, and have more love for life even while managing distress that is sometimes acute and also normal to everyday life.
Therapy and coaching for Individuals and Couples.
My specialties are working with Individuals and Couples who deal with a variety of life challenges. Together we work to ease the distress of feeling stuck, the worry that something is wrong with you, and how to access a sense of ease even while life has its challenges. In our work together you discover how to create the life you want despite the ongoing pressure to be different somehow.
