You might be wondering…

How long before I start to feel better?

Khan Immigrant POC South Asian Therapist & Consultation

Sometimes you can feel great right away, and you also sometimes feel worse before you start to feel better. It can be like when you start working out again and feel sore, and that soreness means you're building strength. This is also how emotional work functions too. It can take time to see the long-term benefits! *flex*

How often do I need to be in coaching or therapy?

Expect to be in coaching or therapy at least once a week. Depending on your specific therapy needs, treatment can be weekly for 6 months to 2 years. At times, depending on your needs we can work beyond two years.

For treatment to be effective, consistency is essential. Therefore, our sessions are on the same day and time that we agreed upon ahead of time, including holidays. On holidays being observed, we will confirm cancellation or reschedule that session beforehand.

What does the first day look like?

The first day will consist of describing what to expect going forward in our coaching or therapy, such as your expectations, how you will know when our work is helping, and a good faith estimate of the cost of coaching or therapy (see below for example).

How much does coaching or therapy cost?

My fee is $200 per 50-minute online coaching or therapy session. I offer extended sessions as needed/requested. For therapy clients utilizing insurance, please confirm with your insurance that extended sessions will be covered.

1 session/week 2 sessions/week

1 Week of Service $200 $400

13 Weeks of Service $2600 $ 5200

26 Weeks of Service $ 5200 $ 10400

39 Weeks of Service $ 7800 $15600

52 Weeks of Service $ 10400 $20800

What is your insurance policy for therapy clients?

I accept PPO insurance plans, allowing you to choose a mental health provider outside your network. I provide a receipt (a superbill) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement of the allowed amount. I'm happy to answer questions to clarify and help navigate the insurance process.

What can I do to make sure my insurance will work for me?

Call your provider directly and ask the following:

1) What is my out-of-network deductible, and have I reached it?

2) If I haven't, how much is left before I reach my deductible?

3) What is the allowed amount you approve for therapy, and what percentage of the allowed amount will I be reimbursed?

4) If insurance coverage is outside of CA, are there any barriers to working with a mental health professional in California?

5) How long does it take for reimbursement? (You will be paying out of pocket and waiting for your insurance to reimburse you.)

6) Are telehealth therapy (virtual therapy) sessions covered?

What type of payment do you accept?

I accept credit card payments.

What is your cancellation policy?

If the session is canceled less than 48 hours before the session or we cannot reschedule it, the full fee of the session is charged.

How long does a consultation last and what does it cost?

Consultation is a free 16-min phone call, or video call, to see if coaching or therapy can help.

What if I start coaching or therapy and I don't like it?

This can happen for many reasons, and it is best that we address it together as soon as you feel this. I can assist by understanding what is needed and making changes in our work, including finding a coach or therapist that is a better fit for you. You receiving the help you need is most important to me.
